What is the history of the company?

The idea all started with the founder of the company, Chad, who has been playing Magic: The Gathering who had gotten back into playing a number of years ago after initially learning to play back when the game first came out. His entrepreneurial mind and his hobby came together in the form of the idea of an inner sleeve that, as well as protecting the card, could change the appearance of the card to personalize the game in a different way than by painting on the card. After almost two years of business research and planning, Chad brought on a friend and developer named James, and they launched a Kickstarter in April of 2019 with a goal of $55,000 After an exciting and successful month, 1286 amazing backers had pledged $62,059, to help bring the project to life.

We got to work making sure the product would be as good as possible before fulfilling our Kickstarter backer rewards and as of December 2019, we have opened our Alter Sleeves website to the general public. 

We are in an everlasting attempt to keep optimizing our product and the experience for Alterists, customers and partners that interact with our business.
